Athens 2nd International Conducting Masterclass and Competition

The 2nd Athens International Conducting Masterclass and Competition is on!

Maestro Michalis Economou and Athens Philharmonia Orchestra collaborating again for this exciting Masterclass and Competition Week in February. Last year's winner was Jonathan Stark from Germany and he will conduct the orchestra this spring as a prize!

The repetoire of the course will be the following:

W. A. Mozart: Symphony no. 41 L. V. Beethoven: Symphony no. 4 A. Dvorak: Symphony no. 8 J. Strauss: Die Fledermaus Overture J. Strauss: Kaiser-Walzer

Tuition Fees: Active participants: €800 Passive participants: €100 Applications deadline: Jan 5, 2020 (Early applications will be prioritized)

About the course: Only 14 participants will be accepted as active members. Each one of them will get up to 90 minutes podium time with the orchestra and 50 minutes with two pianos. All active participants will conduct in one of the final concerts. One prize winner will be selected by the orchestra members to be invited to conduct a concert with the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra during the next season. Videotaping will be allowed for all sessions including the final concert. Additionally, the APHO will provide professional video clips and photos of all sessions to all participants.
